it seems that FDM is not supported in firefox 3, no?
Total LIES I just upgraded to firefox 3 and FDM works fine. Don't let the voices in your head convince you otherwise boy!
is it, the thing is, i tried to install something (which i forget what it was), firefox does not allow it, and in the page that it (firefox) shows, it said that FDM is also blocked so to be honest i havent checked it, i just want to clarify whether it is true or not cuz the page was published by firefox

My combination of Flashget DL Manager, and the Flashgot FF3 extension works perfectly fine mate. I don't know about FDM since I've never used it.
ehhhh probably off topic + i don't mean to hijack your thread at all but can someone answer
why people use DL managers? like what benefits do you get over DL'ing the normal way

Multiple reasons, I'll give you an active example - I want to download a series of files, say 10 files - I can queue them up to download one by one, or any number at a time (say 3), for each file being downloaded I can open up any number of 'connections', which essentially means splitting the file into "smaller" pieces and downloading them each seperately - increasing the download speed significantly.
In summary, it increases your download speed significantly, and you can queue up as many downloads as you want so that you don't have to do the tedious task of downloading multiple files yourself.

Also the fact you can 'resume' downloads most of the time. Usually the download managers built-in to a browser are limited, and sometimes screw up any resumed downloads. Having a 700MB file fail resuming at 650MB is frustrating, to say the least.
I have upgraded to FF 3 with FDM already loaded and don't have any problems. There is no need for the FDM plug-in, it works happily without it.
I am using FlashGot 1.0.5 to select FDM as the default download manager.
I hope that this helps.
