    Default [album]japanese temples

Another album from my trip in Japan last summer. This time, I chose to show the temples.
In most temples, you are not allowed to take pictures inside, that's why you only have the picture of the twin dragons from Kennin-ji (here they said "plz take pictures^^). The bronze sculptures inside are worth a sight though.
    Enjoy !

actually, it depends on which you're talking about.
ending with "dera" or "ji" (kyomizu dera and Ginkaku-ji for exemple), these are Bouddhist "temples".
ending with "jinja" or "jingu" (meiji-jingu), these are Shinto "shrines".

But when I went to temples or shrines, I couldn't really make the difference (same purifiing bath at the entry). All I could tell is that in Shinto shrines, you pray after ringing a bell, and in temples, you pray in front of Buddhist deity's statue.

unlike english, languages like german, russian, arab, korean, chinese, and japanese have the word mix up, where if u sound the words even a tiny bits difference u'd get a totally different thing *-* i always hate that, but a funny coincidence is when JFK took a trip to germany and made a speech on the berlin wall, where he was supposed to say "We are berliner's in spirit" but instead he said "I'm a jelly donut" :D
