i actually like Irie, i think he's a reasonable person. but kotoko is sort of the type that silently scream "bully me!!" if she showed a little restraint he would be after her like a dog :P

Although I posted that saying, I have to say that I still am a Irie x Mokoto fan. Can't help it, it's just the way it is.

But, the reason I can still be a IxM fan is because Irie is a stereotype. He's an A-hole prat who's core nature is not. Because of that, he can change himself if he wants to for Mokoto's sake. However, in real life, it's almost always the opposite of that. Usually the a-hole prat part of a person is the core nature. And women think they can change the core nature, which they can't. So, he's a female fantasy.

As far as the saying goes, if you really want to look further into it, is that women try to change the man directly, which is the wrong way to go about it. Men baulk against being changed, the only way we can change is if we want to ourselves. At least, that's the way I am. It's like smoking. People try and quit all the time, but they fail time and again because in their hearts, they really don't want to. When they really want to quit, that's when they can be successful.

i love this episode. a lot of my favorite scenes show up especially the rain scene. but i'm slightly disappointed with how they did the rain scene compared to the taiwanese drama.

I think I don't really like practically all the guys in this series. Kin-chan for his antics, obsessed with Kotoko and (sorry to say) he's lacking the looks. Irie being an arsehole, hurting Kotoko in any way possible since day 1, but I guess the reason why he didn't want to show his true feelings towards Kotoko is because maybe he wants to see/test how much Kotoko really loves him. That's meany!

It is pretty stupid to take the abuse just to see the soft side. But it's like how some people are, they get so determined about a person that they'll possibly blind themselves to the faults or 'put up with'/'go through' an awful lot to be with them. You could look at Risa in Lovely Complex and how she keeps on trying, however dense Otani is or how he responds.

I haven't read the manga, but that harsh side of Irie may merely be a facade, a way to protect himself on the outside.

Besides, we need some sort of plot device to keep them getting together *too* quickly :P

There's a short side story in the manga that kind of shows why Irie is the way he is ... I think this side story might be scanlated with one of the chapters on onemanga. Try go look. But, if it's not there, here's a summary.
