At the freakin finish line....does she have some kind of teleportation device. If I remember correctly, If Ire is running already while she is on the floor, how did she get ahead of him to the finish line?

****ED UP!

But good episode anyway, specially the end ^^
okay. this is how i understood it. as doubledown mentioned, the track is OVAL. and i believe each person completes a lap before handing off the baton. so basically the baton is handed off at the same point. so it makes sense to have the finish line at that point as well (they probably set it up after the last people are gone). so after kotoko passed off her baton, she stood off near the side. basically she stood close to where she passed off her baton and basically where the finish line was going to be. no teleportation device. just simple logic.

and proof of this "lap theory" is at 15:07 where the announcer says that they have half a lap left. so basically that can imply that they had to do a whole lap in the beginning.

anyways, i love this episode. especially irie-kun's reaction when kotoko slaps him. his face was priceless.

If your theory was correct, it means you would of seen the crowd when she was running to Ire....but you don't.

Second, even if the crowd was there, the point still remains she was still gobsmacked on the floor until the end.

Anyway, enough with that, it was a good episode anyway v.v

This is not a magic at all - this is a sport-misunderstanding. Didn't you saw a length statement on board before the Relay started? It stated 1000 meters run. This means that this Relay is type of 200+200+200+400 (three of halfs and a full lap) - last sprinter runs double distance, and that fact specially noted in manga.

For your topic that means that Naoki runs FULL LAP and all was needed for Kotoko - only to step out to crowd. Finishing line was at the same point as last baton relay (where Kotoko was so shamed )!
